Rypetoppen is a very popular destination for school field trips or class outings. We accept group reservations both on and outside the park’s regular opening days. May/June and August/September are peak season for school classes and other groups. Most people book accommodations as early as six months in advance. It’s a good idea to start planning early to secure your spot. It’s also possible to visit just for a day at the climbing park. We generally have ample capacity for this year-round, every day.

What can we offer school groups?

ACCOMMODATION:

For lodging, most school groups choose a lavvo, where we usually have plenty of space. You must bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad or mattress. We also have 8 Bear cave small cabins) that can accommodate up to 6 people per cabin. The cabins are furnished with mattresses, a coffee table, and a shoe dryer. You must also bring your own sleeping bag for overnight stays in the cabins. Use of canoes and SUPs is included in the price of your stay.

ACTIVITIES:

The climbing park is our main activity and what we recommend above all else. We also offer Camp Rypetoppen, a package of various activities for groups looking for a multi-day program. It is also possible to book the climbing park for both days if you wish. If you schedule your climbing during a regular opening day, you can climb as much as you like during opening hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you’d like to climb outside of regular opening hours, we offer 4 hours of climbing for the same price. There are also many great hiking opportunities in the surrounding area if you’d like to go on an excursion on your own.

MEALS:

We offer breakfast, packed lunches, and dinner. Our breakfast consists of breakfast bread, various spreads, milk, juice, and coffee. We have two dinner options: hamburgers from Meråker Kjøtt or a Tex-Mex stew. Juice and coffee are included with dinner. All our guests have access to two refrigerators, a microwave, and a kettle. These are shared appliances located inside the “Langhuset” common area building. You’re also welcome to prepare your own meals. Feel free to use the grills we have set up around our property.
